Oatlands House – Alexander & Monique

Our Sydney wedding photography team has noticed that many brides today choose to wear their hair up – however if you have long hair, it can look just as stylish when worn down.

There are several factors to take into consideration, when choosing your wedding day hairstyle:

  • The Style of your Gown. As a general rule, high necklines are best suited to an updo; whereas a strapless dress like Monique’s, is ideal for long locks. Consider matching your hairstyle to the era of your dress – for example, a bob or finger waved curls if your gown is a drop waisted 20’s style.
  • Your Face Shape. What hairstyles flatter your face shape? If you have a long face, severely straightened hair with a centre part is probably not going to be your best look.
  • Comfort Counts. What time of year will you be married? Summer brides will feel much more comfortable with their hair up and off the neck when the temperature soars!

With a winter wedding, Monique and her attendants all wore their hair down in cascading waves. The bride looked radiant in a mermaid silhouette wedding gown, full length romantic veil, and a dazzling smile.

Deep jewel tones are a popular colour choice for winter weddings, and with good reason – the bridesmaids look stunning in their ruby red gowns – while the men wore claret bowties with their navy suits.

The combination of glorious colours, a loved-up bride and groom, and the various settings available at Oatlands House (the Rose Garden, the Vineyard, and the Deck), meant that we were able to create some shop-stopping images that the couple can treasure for a lifetime.

In fact, we liked one image so much, we are currently using it on our website home page, as we believe it highlights the exceptional yet affordable wedding photography you can expect from Faure Valletta.

There was plenty of frivolity as well on Monique and Alexander’s special day – what could be more fun than the groom’s hamburger and hot dog socks, a few cheeky selfies with the bridal party, or guests twerking at the reception?!

When the bride posts on social media that their wedding photos are “more than I could ever have imagined” – our Sydney wedding photography team can’t help but be pleased with such a glowing recommendation!
